DANIEL CORDEAUX
Daniel Cordeaux has been working as an actor for over 20 years. He studied theatre at the ATYP (Australian Theatre for Young People) and Actors Centre Australia. He also studied overseas specialising in improvisation under Keith Johnstone in Canada.
He started working with Theatresports as the Belvoir St Theatre in 1987 and since then has appeared regularly in the Cranston Cup and Celebrity Theatresports at the Enmore Theatre. Also appearing in a variety of improvisation comedy shows most notably 160 Characters performing at Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Sydney Comedy Festival, Adelaide Fringe and Singapore Arts Festival. Daniel has starred on the hit television comedy Thank God You’re Here, as a leading ensemble cast member for three seasons. Daniel’s other television credits include The Chaser, CNNN, Home and Away, Winners Quest Beyond Time, as well as a lead role in the feature film Dags.
In 2001 he was invited to join the Australian Improv team in the Montreal International Just For Laughs festival where they won the Improv World Cup. Later the same year Daniel played in the Theatresports World Domination tournament in Atlanta Georgia, winning second place in a solo effort for Australia.
His theatre credits include lead roles in A Midsummer Nights Dream, Twelfth Night, Romeo and Juliet and Accidental Death of An Anarchist and recent tours with The Umbilical Brothers Rehearsal Room.
Daniel has been teaching and performing improvisation in primary and secondary schools nationally since the early 1990’s. He also teaches for the ATYP, Actors Centre, and specialist classes for universities and TAFE around Australia.
