Your Effective Audition
For us to best respond to your work, we require two contrasting monologues of your choice - one Shakespeare piece and one contemporary piece. Each choice should be no more than two and a half minutes and should reflect the kind of roles in which you see yourself cast. The audition panel will generally consist of the Director of the course, along with Heads of Departments and various teaching staff.
The audition environment will be supportive and dynamic, allowing you to be fully effective and to work with a sense of pride. Welcome to our way of fostering artistic productivity.
Please allow approximately 4hrs for the audition. There are two sessions each day beginning at 9.30am and the second at 2.00pm.
A Callback Workshop is the next stage in the audition procces and you will be contacted if we require you to attend this workshop. The callback will include some improvisation, body and vocal exercises. Please allow up to 5hrs for the callback workshop.
If you are considered for a place in the course, you will be invited to a Final Interview. This is a private interview between yourself, the Creative Director, Dean Carey, or the Course Director, Simon Hunt, to determine: a) whether you understand, are committed to and aligned with the course aims, ideals and vision, and b) your ability to meet the course’s financial commitment. You would then be officially offered a place and receive your Starter Kit to begin preparing for the launch of the program some 8 weeks later.
